As one of the the Four Great Inventions in ancient China, printing has made indelible contributions to the spread of human civilization and culture. In 1439, Gutenberg, Germany, produced a wooden relief printing machine. Although this vertical spiral trigger printing machine had a simple structure, it was used for 300 years; In 1812, K ö nig of Germany produced the first round press relief printing machine; In 1847, Hoy of the United States invented the rotary printing press; In 1900, a six color rotary printing machine was produced; In 1904, Rubel of the United States invented the offset printing press.
With the development of technology, modern printing machines generally consist of plate loading, ink coating, embossing, and paper feeding. The working principle is: first, the text and images to be printed are made into a printing plate, installed on a printing machine, and then manually or by a printing machine, ink is applied to the areas with text and images on the printing plate. Then, directly or indirectly, it is transferred to paper or other substrates (such as textiles, metal plates, plastics, leather, wooden boards, glass, and ceramics) to replicate the same text and images as the printing plate.
